国際食料資源学特別コースには、大きく6つの特色（①実践的な英語力の強化、②農・水産学の両専門科目の修得、③文系科目の修得、④卒業プロジェクトの実施、⑤海外での研修、⑥留学生との学び）があります。そのうちの1つである文系科目の修得にあたる「国際開発学」の集中講義が、10月17日、24日、31日、11月3日に行われました。特別コースの学生のみを対象とした少人数での授業であったため、参加型のワークやディスカッションを多く取り入れながら、途上国の「開発」を取り巻く現状や、開発援助の潮流、開発プロジェクトの在り方について学びました。10月31日はハローウィーン・・・仮装してきた学生もいましたが、自分たちの装いのことはすっかり忘れて、真剣な眼差しで、課題に取り組んでいました。
The curriculum of the Special Course contains several distinctive features. One of them is learning “social science subjects” along with “natural science subjects” in agriculture and fisheries. The classes on “Introduction to International Development,” which is one of the social science subjects, were held on the 17th, 24th, 31st of October and the 3rd of November. Students learned about development issues that developing countries are facing, trends of international cooperation and the design of the development project through lectures, activities, discussions and presentations. On “Halloween” day, some students came to class wearing their Halloween costumes. However, during the lessons they studied seriously, without caring whatever costumes their classmates were wearing.
