鹿児島大学農学部から徒歩10分の距離にある鹿児島県立甲南高等学校が、2015年度から、国のスーパーグローバルハイスクールに指定されたことにともない、国際食料資源学特別コースと甲南高校との連携が始まりました。7月10日（金）、農学系サブコースの教員3名が、甲南高校を訪れ、「人口問題に起因する諸問題の解決」をテーマに、課題研究に取り組む2年生40名のプレゼンテーションを聞き、助言を行いました。甲南高校の生徒たちが、今回のアドバイスをもとに、夏休み期間中に、課題研究をさらに進めていくことを期待しています。
Konan High School, located within 10 minutes-walk from Faculty of Agriculture, Kagoshima University, is certified as a Super Global High School (SGH) by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), commencing AY 2015. The SGH program requires high school students to conduct research fieldwork both domestically and internationally on a topic in order to broaden their views and pursue their goals. Konan High School students are conducting research in various fields, aimed at resolving some problems arising from changes in the population dynamics in Japan. On July 10th, Friday, we (3 faculty members of the Agriculture-based sub-course) visited Konan High School and met 40 second-year-students. Each student presented his/her on-going research activity. We interacted actively with the students, and gave some advice to them to help advance their research during their summer vacation.
